Summary:
The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for the consistent quality and safety of the feed and food produced at all locations and facilities.
This includes the creation, implementation, administration and monitoring of the entire Quality Assurance System including but not limited to Safe Feed Safe Food (SFSF), Safe Quality Food (SQF), and HACCP programs.
This position is a key component of feed and food processing regulatory and customer compliance requirements, communications, initiatives, and training.
Location:
Valders, WI (home office) with up to 20% travel to Owen, WI and Reese, MI Essential Job Functions:
Responsible for the development, implementation, review, maintenance, and continual improvement of the SFSF and SQF programs Ensure compliance to feed and food safety and quality parameters in each of the Mill and Refinery plants regarding company standards, customer requirements, GMP's, HACCP, FDA and other regulations as they apply Oversight of product testing and data analysis of all products (meal and oil) at all plant locations (Valders, Reedsville and Owen in Wisconsin and Reese, Michigan) Lead role and responsibility for all aspects of SFSF, SQF and customer audits Create and update, as necessary, all internal policies and procedures to satisfy SFSF and SQF requirements Analysis of product quality and safety metrics, audit data, customer feedback, impacts of regulatory changes as continuing effort to improve current SFSF and SQF programs.
Maintains and improves product quality & safety by completing product, company, system, compliance, and surveillance audits Collaborates with all members of management and site leaders to ensure and address in a timely manner all problem identification, compliance situations, process improvements and clear, continuous communications Responsible for the leadership, supervision, communication, training, development and performance management of QA Technicians at all plant locations Work on corporate projects as assigned Required Minimum
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Quality, Food, or Biological Sciences or equivalent experience required Minimum of three years' experience working with food manufacturing operations and QA programs or related product safety and quality programs Strong knowledge in the areas of food safety, food microbiology, food processing technology, sanitation practices, Good Manufacturing Practices, and HACCP principles.
SQF Practitioner certification is a plus Strong analytical, written, verbal and interpersonal skills Ability to prioritize and successfully manage multiple projects at various locations Excellent leadership and verbal/written communication skills to foster a team environment Physical Requirements:
Hands on in all aspects of safety program execution.
Application of physical effort as a safety professional to ensure organization achieves the desired outcomes in program development and personnel training Ability to frequently bend, squat, climb, sit, stand, walk, handle objects, reach above shoulder level, use fine finger movements and push/pull Must be able to walk throughout the facilities and grounds to conduct internal audits and employee training independently Job Type:
